The Bridge at Saugatuck

Set on the Saugatuck River, a coveted location in Westport, is this fall’s most anticipated opening The Bridge at Saugatuck. We toured the space with Co-Owner Doug Pardon and got the best vibes! Think several different curated spaces from a swanky dining room to en plein air dining on the water for everything from docking to dining. With serious talent at the helm alongside Co-Owner NBC’s Craig Melvin (a Westport resident) we know it’s going to be the spot to chicly chill this season (and beyond …).

The private event space is already booking up from birthdays to bridal showers andupcoming holiday season soirées and the town is abuzz for the November launch of lunch.

“What excites me most about The Bridge is bringing life and energy to a historic and unique building at an amazing location on the water in the vibrant Saugatuck neighborhood. I want to create not just a restaurant, but a fun gathering place for friends and family. Whether it be dock and dining, enjoying a glass of wine while enjoying the view of the river, watching a sports event at the patio bar, grabbing a drink at the main bar for happy hour or just enjoying a great meal on the mezzanine floor. We want to be customer friendly, provide great food and service but most importantly a great and memorable time,” Doug Pardon

Momu Westport

JUST IN TIME FOR SUMMER!  Momu has opened their petal pink doors in Westport! We popped in for an exclusive one-on-one preview with the owners and we must say … we’re getting solid vibes and lyrics. The playlist is stacked with 70’s Rock n’ Roll and the locally crafted ice cream is delicious.

Let’s give you a little background first. The new ice cream spot is across the street from Kneads. Kneads co-owners/chefs Brittany and Daniel Moreno have partnered with Emily and Christian Muñoz to form MMM Hospitality. Momu is their first venture.

They serve ice cream, sorbet and affegato and sell packed to order pints. The flavors range from true classics to fun seasonal flavors that support local farmers. Take note, there’s a Kneads flavor which uses bread bites baked fresh daily across the street.

Their toppings are as special as their flavors. All are handmade at Kneads minus the chocolate pearls.  We’re partial to the brownie bites which we wanted to devour the whole tray of as they came out of the oven.

The highlight of our visit was watching the custom cone making, each one carefully crafted from their secret batter.

We asked the 4 owners for their personal favorite flavors:

Brittany: Hazelnut, but she’s also excited for the Kneads bread flavor, naturally.

Emily: She’s a sucker for the classic chocolate.

Christian: On a hot day the lemon sorbet reminds him of Italian ices, but better and the matcha ice cream.

Daniel: Mud coffee ice cream with Oreos and fudge.

The shop officially opens Saturday and they will be open daily from 12PM-10PM.

Sweetgreen

Welcome to Westport Sweetgreen!

To celebrate the grand opening on Tuesday, July 30th they did a meal match with Food Rescue US.

The space is super chic with tons of seating and located at the crossroads of Compo and the Post Road in the Trader Joes shopping center.

The option to make-your-own or select a bestseller salad are super easy to navigate and the ingredient combinations (and dressing options with calorie listings) are seemingly endless. Each salad also comes with fresh bread.

The support of nearby farmers and purveyors is excellent and, like the newish Darien location, the hand-lettered board sharing all of that information by Sara Levin Calligraphy is just beautiful.
